Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport – Entebbe Hotel (Approx. 10 -30 mins drive)

On your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be met and welcomed by our representative.

After the interaction and brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe for an Overnight stay Bed and Breakfast.

Day 2: Entebbe to Jinja

Morning breakfast and transfer to jinja and have an enroute stopover in Mabira Forest for Ziplining and also a visit to the Ssezibwa Falls. These spectacular waterfalls are believed to have been born by humans many hundred years ago and they are one of the most spiritual and cultural centers where many natives flock for blessings, wealth, and fortunes proceed to Jinja for an Overnight stay at your Hotel on Full board.

Day 3: Day in Jinja

Breakfast at the lodge, and set out for a morning tour to the source of Africa’s Longest River Nile as it starts its 6,500km journey to the Mediterranean Sea (Egypt). You will have a boat ride to the exact point where the waters of Lake Victoria separate with those of the river Nile. Return to your hotel for rest and lunch. Jinja has got a variety of optional activities that you can do on this day including Bungee jumping, white water rafting, Quad bikes, Horse riding, and community tours.

Day 4: Jinja to Murchison Falls National Park (Approx. 5-6hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, your driver guide will pick you for a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. This journey will take you through the famous Luweero Triangle and a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, enjoy a 1-2hrs walk as you track the Rhinos. This is the only place where one is able to see these in the wild. Have Lunch and later proceed with your journey to Murchison falls National Park via Masindi town. You will have another stop over the Top of the falls for a clear and magnificent view of the water forcing its self through a 7-meter gorge and drops to over 43 meters below with a thunderous roar hence forming a beautiful rainbow.

 Reach at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay Full Board.

 

Day 5: Budongo and the Royal Mile

Morning breakfast at your lodge and transfer to Budongo Forest, you will have thechance to see bird species like African Dwarf Kingfisher, Blue Breasted Kingfisher, Brown Twin-spot, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Crested Guinea fowl, crested Eagle, and many others. Lunch and transfer to the Royal Mile. The mile was constructed by one of the Kings of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom for exhilarating nature walks and leisure activities, and believe it or not, it is one of the most interesting trails for tourists who visit Budongo Forest Reserve near the Nyabyeya Forestry College, found in Budongo sub-county of Masindi district. This trail is the most perfect place for birding safaris within this large tropical rainforest. It is said that Omukama (King) Kabalega Chwa II-born in 1853 and died in 1923, of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, used to often visit Budongo Forest. Among many species are Sabine's Spinetail, Cassin's Spinetail, African Swift, Grey Parrots, Great-white and Pink-backed Pelicans, Grey-crowned Cranes, African, and Lesser Jacana, yellow and Grey long-billed, Chestnut-capped, yellow-footed, yellow-crested, and brown eared woodpecker and lemon-bellied. Have a night game drive in search of wild animals like leopards, lions, and many others. Return to your lodge for an overnight stay on Full Board.

Day 6: Game drive and Launch cruise to the bottom of the falls

Rise very early in the morning and set out for the game drive before sunrise. Murchison falls being Uganda’s largest park, you will enjoy a variety of wildlife it has to offer including Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, Elephants, large numbers of Giraffes, Warthogs, Antelopes, Waterbucks and Bushbucks as well as the so many different bird species. After like 3-4hrs of the game drive, return to the Lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation. After Lunch, set out for the afternoon launch cruise to the bottom of the falls along the Victoria Nile. This 3hrs boat cruise will enable you to have a glance at a number of waters loving animals such as Hippos, Crocodiles, Buffalos and so many bird species like the kingfishers, Cormorants, Hornbills, Goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelicans and bee-eaters. After the cruise, return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stayFull Board.

Day 7: Depart for Kibale Forest National Park (Approx. 7- 8hrs drive)

Early morning breakfast at the lodge and depart for Kibale National Park. The Journey will take you through the Western Rift Valley’s Albertine Escarpment as well as the green countryside and traditional homesteads of the local people within the Bunyoro and Toro Kingdoms. Upon arriving in Fort Portal, clear days will give you a glimpse of the legendary snowcapped Mountain, also famously known as the “Mountains of the Moon” (Mt Rwenzori). Kibale Forest National Park is home to 13 primate species, including the common man’s closest Cousins (Chimpanzees). The Forest is also a home to over 325 bird species, including the rare Green-breasted Pitta. After your lunch, you will visit the Kasenda craters. Take a short hike to the ‘Top of the World’ viewpoint where you can see a lot of the small crater lakes within this region. Proceed and also visit the spectacular Lake Nyinambuga from which the lake shown on the 20.000 Uganda shilling note was depicted. Arrive at your Lodge in the evening for an overnight stay on Full Board.

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp

Morning breakfast at your lodge and set out for a half-day Chimpanzee tracking experience. You will be transferred to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a 30- 40 minutes briefing and get to know more about the chimpanzees and their ways of living within the forest. After this, you will then embark on your journey to search for these primates through the forest. On spotting the chimps, you are only given one Hour to bewith them as you take videos and pictures. Along the way, other primate species can be spotted, such as the LHoest’s Monkeys, Red-tailed Monkeys, Blue Vervet Monkeys, and Black & White colobus Monkeys, among others. Other animals that can be seen are Forest Elephants, Buffalos and a lot of bird species.

 After the tracking, return to your Lodge for Lunch.

 Afternoon visit to Bigodi swamp for birding, Dinner and overnight at your Lodge Full Board.

 

Day 9: Transfer to Katonga Wildlife Reserve and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth

National Park Early morning breakfast at your lodge and transfer to Katonga Wildlife Reserve. This hidden gem in western Uganda offers tranquil wetlands, rich biodiversity, and sightings of the rare sitatunga antelope. Enjoy guided nature walks, birdwatching, and canoe rides through unspoiled landscapes. You will be able to spot birds like Black Crake, Shoebill, Great Bittern, Goliath Heron, African Fish Eagle, White-winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Malachite Kingfisher, African Jacana, Black Crake, and Yellow-billed Duck. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is one of the country’s best wildlife National parks with over 600 bird species, mammals like Lions, Leopards, elephants, buffaloes and so many others.

Day 10: Game drive and Boat ride along the Kazinga channel.

Morning breakfast at your lodge and set out for another game drive to look for more wildlife which you weren’t able to see on the previous drive, Lunch and in the afternoon set out for the launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. The channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George.

The channel is a home to one of Africa’s largest hippo populations and bird species. this 3hrs boat cruise will enrich you with views of the water loving animals such as Hippos, Elephants, Buffalos, Crocodiles and other antelopes as we as bird species. Return to your Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay. Full Board

Day 11: Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth & the tree climbing Lions (Approx.

2hrs drive)

After breakfast, leave the northern side of the park and transfer to the southern sector of Ishasha. Spend the whole day on a game drive in search of the rare tree-climbing lions.

These are famously found in fig trees. Have an evening sundowner with a few drinks to end the evening game drive. Overnight at your Lodge. Full Board

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (Approx. 4hrs drive)

Breakfast in the morning and embark on your journey to the famous Bwindi

Impenetrable Forest National Park. The park is well known for being a habitat for the endangered species of Mountain Gorillas. Check in at your Lodge. Lunch. Have the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight at your Lodge. Full Board.

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park The day is finally here for your unforgettable lifetime experience of meeting face to face with the giant mountain Gorillas. You will start your day with an early breakfast at your lodge and then transfer to the park headquarters (Depending on which location you have booked your accommodation) for briefing. There are 4 sectors in which Gorilla trekking takes place with in Bwindi Forest. The northern side of the park is comprised of Buhoma and Ruhija Sector and the southern side comprises Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors. After the Briefing, you will start on your day’s trek. Searching for the gorillas may take 2- 5 hours, depending on where they were last spotted the previous day.

Once they have been spotted, you will be given one hour to take videos, photos, and also get a chance to ask the rangers and the guides any questions about these giant apes. Besides the great Apes, the forest is also home to other wildlife and bird species such as butterflies, primates, mammals, frogs, and so on, which can all be seen along the way to the Gorillas. After seeing the Gorillas, you will then head back to your lodge and retire for the rest of the day. The whole day activity can take between 5 and to 9hrs.

Day 14: Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga National Park and Transfer to Lake

Bunyonyi (Approx. 2 hrs. drive)

In the morning, transfer to Mgahinga National Park, approx. 2 hours drive for Golden Monkey Tracking. During the trek, visitors venture into the dense bamboo forests of the park guided by experienced trackers. The golden monkeys are highly active and agile creatures, making the trek an exciting adventure as you try to spot them swinging through the trees or foraging on the forest floor. Observing these beautiful primates in their natural habitat is a memorable experience, and it also provides an opportunity to learn about their behavior, habitat, and the conservation efforts aimed at protecting them. The trek usually lasts a few hours, and sightings are almost guaranteed. After the activity, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Overnight stay on Full Board.

 

Day 15: Day in Lake Bunyonyi

Enjoy every moment at this magnificent lake, have a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, and lunch. Have the rest of the day at your Leisure. Overnight on full board at your lodge Day 16: Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park (Approx. 4 hrs. drive) After your early morning breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Mburo National Park, which is Uganda’s smallest National Park. The journey will take you through stunning scenery and views of the Ankole Kingdom, with animal farms and different crop plantations. Arrive in time for Lunch at your Lodge. Afternoon, set out for a nature walk in the park. Lake Mburo National Park is one of the few parks where one can do a guided nature walk and still see most of the animals as if you are on a game drive. The park is famously known for harboring the largest number of Zebras in Uganda. Other animals that can be seen also include Impalas, Oribis, Giraffes, and a lot of bird species.

Day 17: Lake Mburo to Entebbe (Approx. 5hrs drive) Morning breakfast and have a game drive as you exit the park. Look out for more animals that you missed on the nature walk, and have a bonus for the ones you saw. Later, drive back to Entebbe, having Lunch en route. Stop over at the Equator for the water experience as well as Photography. Proceed and drop off at the Airport on time for your evening departure flight to your next destination or Back Home.
